Brake shoes last between 30,000 to 60,000 miles depending on how often you use the brakes.

The more you use the brakes the more the brake shoes will wear out and the sooner you'll need to replace the brake shoes.

For me I get 50,000 miles out of my brake shoes on my truck and about the same amount of miles on my front brake pads.

I drive around 10,000 miles per year so the brake pads and brake shoes usually last for me around 5 years.

I check the brake pads and brake shoes on my truck every 2 years or sooner if I'm planning on heading out on a long road trip.

Also if you drive a truck and are towing heavy loads or just towing trailers the brake shoes and brake pads can wear out faster.

I would inspect the brake pads and brake shoes at least every 2 years or more if you do a lot of driving and braking.
