High lead levels put a child at risk for developing autism but the high lead levels themselves are not the actual cause of autism in children.

Some shots that babies get can lead to autism later on on life.

Other times autism usually develops from a combination of genetic and nongenetic, or environmental, influences.

Some people have a more severe form of autism and other people have a less severe case of autism known as high functioning autism.

Some people and kids may appear just fine when you see them but they may actually have autism even though they are functioning really good.

Asperger Syndrome is also another form of autism which results in anxiety and the person not making eye contact and also having selective mutisim.

Which means that the child may talk just fine at home but may not talk when around strangers or at school.
