A good way to tell if a baby is too cold is to feel the babies hands and feet.
When a baby is too cold the babies hands and feet will usually be cold to the touch or the baby may also be shivering if they are too cold.
Even though you may be warm the baby may be too cold so you usually need to dress the baby more warmly in the winter even though the heat is on in the house.
When a baby is too warm or too hot they will usually have flushed cheeks and look like they're sweating.
If it's too warm for you then it's likely too warm for the baby.
During the winter when the baby is sleeping usually allowing the baby to sleep in a pair of footed Pajamas or blanket sleepers is enough to keep them warm.
If it's too hot for the baby in the house then you can just let the baby sleep in just a diaper.
Or even when the baby is awake and it's too hot inside for the baby then you can leave the baby in just a diaper.
Also when it's too hot outside the baby can be outside in just a diaper and shirt.
Diapers can cause the baby to be too hot and adding a pair of shorts makes the baby hotter so a baby that is under 2 years old can go out in just a diaper.
If the baby is 2 years old or older then adding a pair of shorts over the 2 year or older kids diaper won't make them too hot.
