Swaddling a baby has a few benefits and it's a good idea to swaddle a baby if they like it.

The benefits of swaddling a baby is it helps calm the baby and helps the baby relax and helps the baby fall asleep faster and stay asleep.

Swaddling the baby helps the baby feel more like they are in the womb which they are used too.

Infants and babies who are swaddled have a more stable and lower heart rate which is good and also the baby will be quieter at night and less fussy.

However some babies may not like it but if they don't like being swaddled then don't force it.

You can feed your baby while swaddled but it's recommended to not feed them when swaddled.

If you feed them while swaddled they are not usually as alert and may not eat enough when breastfeeding or when bottle feeding.

I would recommend removing them from being swaddled and then feeding them.

Then when done feeding the baby you can swaddled them again if you want too.

Not all newborns like to be swaddled but most newborns do like to be swaddled.

It's up to the individual newborn.

My nephew never liked being swaddled when he was a newborn and he would cry really loud as soon as you swaddled him.

He would not stop crying until his mother removed him from the swaddled position.

He hated it so bad.

However my other nephew loved being swaddled and he would sleep much better when swaddled.

Some newborns find the swaddling calming and relaxing but others hate it.
