Yes vinegar can be used to clean pans.

You can use vinegar and equal parts of water to the vinegar to clean your pants that have burnt on or scorched on food.

Pour equal parts water and equal parts of vinegar into the pan and then put the pan on the stove and heat it up.

You want to get the vinegar and water boiling then after it boils for at least 1 minute you can turn the stove off and then allow the pan to cool down.

You can then scrub the pan out with a scrub brush or sometimes the food should wipe off with a sponge.

Vinegar is also good for helping clean grease off of pans as well.

Adding some baking soda to some undiluted vinegar and allowing it to fizzle for awhile can help lift grease and other food particles off the pans.
