When a person has MRSA they are usually contagious with the MRSA for as long as they have the MRSA infection.

You can easily get MRSA from anyone who has it especially through skin to skin contact or if you touch their bedding or clothing and then you touch your face without washing your hands first.

Always wear gloves when you touch a person who has MRSA or if you touch their clothing or bedding you should always wear disposable gloves.

Then wash your hands with soap and water.

it's OK to be around someone with MRSA as long as you wash your hands and avoid touching the person with your bare hands.

If you need to be around the person with MRSA wear a mask and wear disposable gloves and wash your hands often with hot water and antibacterial soap.

If you don't really need to be around a person who has MRSA then it's best to avoid going around them until they are no longer infected or contagious with the MRSA.

It's possible to spread the MRSA infection by touching that persons skin and then touching your nose or mouth without washing your hands first.

So wash your hands often and wash the persons clothes and bedding often as well.
