Yes anxiety can cause an increase in blood pressure and anxiety can then lead to high blood pressure as a result of your heart beating faster.

When you're experiencing anxiety your heart will usually beat faster and that means that the heart will be pumping more blood faster and at a higher pressure.

Having anxiety leads to an increase in blood pressure which if the high blood pressure gets too high it can result in heart attacks, strokes, heart disease and even death in rare cases.

If you're suffering from anxiety and your blood pressure is going up or you feel your heart beating faster you should see a doctor about it.

You don't want your blood pressure to get too high because it can result in a heart attack, strokes and even eventual death in rare cases.
