Yes it is possible to potty train your baby too early.

When a child is potty trained too early it makes it even more difficult for the child to learn to go potty and actually potty training too early makes the potty training take too long.

Some parents try to potty train their child before 18 months of age which I believe is really too early as a child before 18 months of age cannot really grasp the concept of needing to go to the toilet.

A child needs to be able to go to the toilet on their own, pull down their pants and underwear and go to the toilet themselves.

The child also needs to know how to wipe their own bottom.

If the child cannot do those things then they really are not ready to toilet train.

I believe it's best to wait until the child is over 18 months of age or at least 2 years old or above to begin potty training.

Once the child gets to 2 years old or above they can more easily recognize the need to go to the bathroom and pee or poop.

Then they can usually start pulling up their pants, pulling them down and learn to wipe.

A child should really remain in diapers full time until at least age 18 months of age and then try to potty train them.

If the child is still peeing their pants or pooping their pants and you're cleaning that up then the child is not ready to be potty trained.

If the child is peeing or pooping their pants or peeing or pooping on the floor and not going to the toilet then they are not ready and should be wearing diapers until they can hold their poop or pee in and make it to the toilet.
