After you have a cortisone injection or a cortisone vaccine you should rest the area that the vaccine was given in for at least 24 hours.
So take it easy for at least 24 hours and allow the body to rest where you had the cortisone injection done.
Also after you have had the cortisone injection watch closely for any signs of infection, including increasing pain, redness and swelling that last more than 48 hours.
If you notice any signs of infection after the cortisone injection go to urgent care or the emergency room or a walk in clinic.
Do not use a bathtub, hot tub or whirlpool for two days and avoid getting the cortisone injection area wet for those 2 days.
Also protect the injection area for a few days.
