During pregnancy it's very important to drink plenty of water and you should drink even more water when you're pregnant than when you were not pregnant.

Not drinking enough water during pregnancy can cause serious health issues with the unborn baby and complicate the pregnancy.

The complications that can occur with the pregnancy from not drinking enough water are complications that include neural tube defects, low amniotic fluid, inadequate breast milk production, and even premature labor.

The above risks and complications can lead to birth defects due to lack of water and nutritional support for your baby.

A baby can sometimes survive in the womb without the amniotic fluid as long as the baby is at least 24 weeks old inside your womb.

If the baby is under 24 weeks old in your womb then the baby may survive without the amniotic fluid but it's also very unlikely the baby will survive without the amniotic fluid.

When the baby in the mothers womb is at least 23 weeks and above the baby does not need the amniotic fluid as much as it did before then.

But still the amniotic fluid for the baby is still very important and without the amniotic fluid the baby has a less chance of survival.

If you're 23 weeks or more into your pregnancy then low levels of amniotic fluid may not be a problem but if you're less than 24 to 23 weeks into the pregnancy then the baby is unlikely to survive in the mothers womb without the amniotic fluid.
