When you have old car batteries that you need to get rid of you can take them to a scrap metal yard and get paid for them.
Not all scrap yards will buy old car batteries but some scrap yards do buy old car batteries and will pay between $2.00 to $5.00 each.
If you don't have a scrap metal yard that buys old car batteries then you can check with your local landfill and ask if they have a hazardous waste drop off where they will take the batteries and recycle them.
Or if you need to replace your own car battery then take the old battery into the auto parts store or Walmart and use it for a core charge.
Then you'll pay less for your new car battery and the old battery will get recycled.
When I need to replace my own car battery I take the old one in and get my core charge back and then the old battery gets recycled.
