When a FedEx package is at the local destination facility and in transit it means that the package has reached it's destination and has been sorted at the FedEx sorting facility that is closest to your address.

Once your package gets to the destination sorting facility the package is then sorted and then placed onto a truck and could go to another smaller FedEx location where it can then be loaded onto the local delivery vehicle that FedEx uses.

However if you're really close to that FedEx destination facility then the package may be loaded onto a FedEx delivery vehicle and then delivered to your address.

If you live further away from the destination facility then the package will be loaded onto a larger truck and then be delivered to a smaller local FedEx facility and then it will be sent to your address.

When the FedEx package is out for delivery to your address the FedEx tracking will then be updated to say Out For Delivery Today.

If you need to sign for your package be sure to be home or if they leave a door tag then sign the door tag and then they will release the package.

However some packages will not need to be signed for and can be left at your door or other place without signature.

The package will be delivered to your address on the day it says out for delivery.
