Yes blood clots can feel like a pulled muscle.

If you feel like you have a pulled muscle and haven't did anything that could've pulled the muscle then it could be a blood clot.

Blood clots should always be taken seriously because left untreated blood clots can eventually lead to death.

To check for a blood clot in your leg the doctor will perform an X Ray of your leg.

The X Ray of the leg will show the blood veins and blood vessels and show whether or not the blood is clotting up in those blood vessels or veins.

Ultrasounds and MRI scans are other ways that doctors can detect and diagnose blood clots in your legs.

If you have a blood clot then the doctor may need to have a surgeon perform a cleaning on your blood veins and arteries that are clotting up.

When left untreated blood clots can become serious enough to where they clog fully and block off the blood flow to your heart and even brain.

Blood clots can then lead to death if they are left untreated.

If you think you have a blood clot always see a doctor about it to be safe.

Some symptoms of a blood clot in your leg are Swelling, usually in one leg (or arm), leg pain or tenderness that is often described as a cramp or Charley horse, Reddish or bluish skin discoloration and also a leg or arm that is warm to the touch.
