When your pet dies you have a few different options to dispose of your pet when it dies.

Once your pet dies you can either bury the pet or have the pet cremated.

If you can afford the cost of cremation for the pet then you can ask your vet for cremation options and they can sometimes do the cremation of the pet or they may be able to refer you to a place that does pet cremation.

The cost of pet cremation varies but costs between $50.00 to $150.00 depending on the size of the pet.

Pet cremation cost is not too much so if you can afford the pet cremation that is a good option and you can keep the pets ashes from cremation in an urn in your house.

If you cannot afford to cremate your pet then you can dig a hole in your backyard and bury the pet.

A large dog or even a small dog or cat should be buried at least 3 to 4 feet down to prevent other animals from smelling the dead animal.

Smaller pets may only need 1 or 2 feet of dirt dug out to bury them.

You can bury the pet in a plastic bag, wooden box, cardboard box or just bury the pet directly.
