Human sweat contains salt and when that salt in the sweat enters your eyes it can cause your eyes to sting.

It's the salt in the sweat that causes the stingy eyes from the sweat and not the sweat itself.

The sweat also contains hormones and oils that occur naturally that also along with the salt in the sweat causes your eyes to sting.

To keep your eyes from stinging from sweat make sure to wash the sweat off your eyes and face often before it has a chance to get into your eyes.

I keep a wet washcloth nearby when working outside and wipe my face off and around my eyes.

If I have to I use a water bottle and pour some water on the washcloth and then wash my face and eyes.

You can also use a cloth or paper towel to help keep the sweat out of your eyes.
