Pepper Spray was invented in the 1960s by Alan Lee Litman and was first used by the FBI in 1973 for dealing with animals and humans that they encountered when needed.

The effects of pepper spray last in your eyes for between 30 minutes to as long as 2 hours unless you wash the pepper spray off sooner.

If you get pepper sprayed you need to wash the pepper spray off your eyes and face soon.

If the pepper spray is not washed off soon then it may sometimes cause permanent damage and even blindness.

When you're pepper sprayed the pepper spray causes non-lethal inflammation of all mucous membranes in the eyes, nose, mouth and lungs.

The pepper spray also causes your eyes to slam shut from intense burning and temporary blindness.

You can also use milk to help get rid of the pepper spray and burning sensation on the face and eyes.

When pepper spray is washed off the persons face and washed out the persons eyes soon enough then the pepper spray will not cause any permanent damage.

However if you do not wash the pepper spray out of the eyes and off the face then the pepper spray may cause permanent damage and blindness.

Having pepper spray sprayed into your face and eyes will be painful and as long as you wash the pepper spray off then you'll be just fine.

Pepper spray is a good thing to have to ward off dogs and some human attackers because the pepper spray is painful and causes you to lose focus on what you're doing.

So your eyes and face will be burning until you get some water and clean it off.

Pepper spray is also a controlled substance so if you have it do not take any pepper spray to school because you can be suspended
