When a car starts up and then shakes and then dies out then the likely cause is an engine misfire.

The engine is likely not getting the correct firing of the spark plugs and gasoline to ignite the fuel or it may be getting too much fuel causing the engine to flood with gasoline and then cause it to die.

The engine when running has lots of explosions going on in the cylinders because the spark plugs ignite the gasoline in the cylinders which push the pistons down and back up.

So you could be getting too much gasoline and then when it creates too big of an explosion in the cylinders the engine causes the car to shake as it dies out.

The problem could be a faulty ignition module, faulting ignition coil, bad spark plugs, vacuum leak, bad mass air flow sensor etc.

Check to make sure all vacuum hoses are connected and are in good condition.

Because a small vacuum leak could cause the engine to run rough or even not start at all.

It's hard to say for sure unless we're there and can actually see the car and listen to the car.

If your car starts and dies immediately you could have a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter or just a low fuel pressure problem.

I would check the fuel pressure first to ensure that you're getting enough fuel pressure because if your engine does not get enough fuel pressure then the engine could shake and die or just not start at all.
