Yes anyone can just walk into an open house to look at the house or join the open house party.

Even if you have no interest in actually buying the house you can walk into the open house and look at it.

I've done that myself when I was just interested in the interior of an old house that was being sold.

I wished I could've bought it because it was a beauty but could not buy it.

So if you see an open house you can go into the open house without invitation etc to look at it because that is what the open house is.

The open house is meant for people to just walk in and look around to see if they are interested in buying the house.

Open houses do really sell homes.

Houses that sell through open houses usually sell a bit faster than those homes that are not using open houses.

Also most open houses sell for around $9,000 to $12,000.00 more than they would had you not had an open house.

I actually sold my first house through an open house and it sold for $12,000.00 more than it would've had I just put it on the market and waited for it to sell.

Having an open house lets people see the house without having to schedule a visit and tour with a real estate agent.

Just make sure the house is cleaned up really nice and looks very good before setting up an open house.

Clean the yard, add good curb appeal, and get rid of any clutter you may have around the outside and inside of the house.

Then your home should sell much faster and for a much higher price.
