In rare cases blood clots may look like bruises on the areas where there is a blood clot.

However a bruise doesn't always mean a blood clot but if you're worried and haven't injured yourself to get a bruise and you notice a bruise then you should see a doctor to be sure it isn't a blood clot.

Blood clots though in most cases are not visible and are just clots of blood in the blood vessels that with treatment can be healed up and unclogged.

Some less severe blood clots do go away on their own without treatment.

However blood clots can be dangerous and lead to heart attacks, strokes and death.

So if you think you have a blood clot anywhere in your body you should go to your doctor, urgent care or even the emergency room.

If larger blood clots are left untreated the blood clot can lead to heart attacks, strokes and death.

So always get checked out for the blood clot.

It's better to make sure the blood clot is not too severe than leave the blood clot untreated and then have a heart attack, stroke or even die as a result.
