When your gas gauge is always reading full and not going down then it could either be a bad wiring connection or a bad gas gauge or even a bad fuel gauge sending unit in the tank.

Most times the gas gauge sending unit that is located in the fuel tank is the problem and the cause of a gas gauge always reading full.

My truck used to read full all the time and it turned out to be the sending unit in the gas tank.

I replaced both the fuel pump and gas gauge sending unit because I had everything out.

Also on some vehicles you have to buy the entire gas gauge sending unit and fuel pump because they are built in together.

If it's not the gas gauge sending unit causing the issue then it could be the gas gauge itself but most times it's the gas gauge sending unit or even the floater could be bad as well.
