The common signs of a detached retina are flashes of light that appear in one or both eyes, blurred vision, sudden appearance of eye floaters as well as reduced side (peripheral) vision that happens gradually.

Most cases of detached retina require no medical attention as long as they are not severe.

Some less severe detached retinas will heal on their own without medical treatment.

However if you do think you have a detached retina it's best to make an appointment with your eye doctor or go to urgent care or the emergency room if it's required.

The eye doctor can make sure it's not too severe.

Because you don't want to have a detached retina that is more severe and then leave it untreated.

It's better to know for sure how severe the detached retina is.
