Some tetanus shots do contain pertussis or at least the medicine to protect against pertussis.

In other cases you may get another separate shot or vaccine along with the tetanus shot to protect yourself from the pertussis or whooping cough.

If you don't ask for it then you might not get it.

However some tetanus vaccines do contain the medicine to treat and protect against whooping cough and pertussis but it can vary.

The time it takes for the side effects of a tetanus shot to go away can vary from person to person.

However most side effects after tetanus shots go away within a few days to a week or two.

The most common side effect of a tetanus shot injection is pain at the injection site or in the arm where the tetanus shot was given.

When I had a tetanus shot the pain lasted awhile but it did eventually go away.

Having some pain in your arm after you have a tetanus shot is normal and the arm will hurt for a few days to as long as 4 weeks in some cases.

After a few weeks though the pain should not be as bad and if it is or the pain gets worse then see a doctor about it.

The pain should not last longer than a month but sometimes people have reported that they had pain in their arm for as long as 3 months after the tetanus shot.

The last time I had a tetanus shot which was around 5 years ago now the pain in my arm lasted for 2 weeks before it went away.

So you might have the pain for a few weeks and then again you might have it longer.
