Seeing babies/toddlers in nothing but a diaper.

I was wondering if anyone else gets upset when they see a young child wearing nothing but a diaper?

The other day I was picking up some dinner items when I noticed a little toddler walking around the grocery store with nothing on but a diaper (no shoes, either). I was disturbed so I looked around for the mom. Saw her at the register FULLY CLOTHED. I got kind of sick.

I don't want to be "judgemental" on this lady but it gets cold in grocery stores and besides that, running around on the germy, dirty and cold floor?

There's no excuse I could think of to justify her actions. You can get clothes for free at a number or churches/missions/thrift shops..etc but she didn't look very shabby so I don't think finances were the reason.

I've seen this a number of times and it disgusts me

When is it considered neglect, if at all?

A baby with nothing but a diaper is NOT cute at all. If I see a baby in just a diaper I want to run away. No one wants to see your babies toilet. And that's what the diaper is. It's a portable toilet that your kid is wearing. Cover them up please.

I can't stand seeing kids in only a diaper... I think it looks trashy when parents take them out in public like that.  It's like adults going out in underwear yuck.

Last place I saw that was Taco Bell and I was  grossed out by that.

It's fine in your house for them to run around in just a diaper. But when going outside please put something over there diaper.

I wouldn't say it's neglect. I do however prefer to see the baby clothed but things do happen.

The baby could've had a diaper blowout or threw up on his/her clothes etc and they didn't have a change of clothes with them.

Things do happen.

I wouldn't judge. You never know what's really happened.
