When your doctor prescribes you beta blockers and you then begin taking beta blockers most people who do get on beta blockers stay on beta blockers for around 2 to 3 years.

Most people stay on beta blockers for 2 years while some people stay on beta blockers for 3 years and some people stay on beta blockers longer than 3 years.

Longer term use of beta blockers can be damaging to your heart so you'll usually only stay on beta blockers for as long as 2 to 3 years at most.

That is unless your doctor says you need to stay on beta blockers longer than 3 years.

If you've been taking beta blockers for at least 2 years then you should speak with your doctor and see if you can stop taking them.

You can usually stop taking the beta blockers after a few years and be just fine but speak with your doctor first.
