Yes cats can get overheated just like dogs and other animals and humans.

Cats and dogs usually overheat much faster than humans because of the fur they have that traps in the heat.

Having all that fur on the cats or dogs body causes them to overheat much faster than humans do.

So it's important to keep the cats or dogs cool and when it's hot out bring the dogs and cats inside the house where you have air conditioning if possible.

If you have a dog outside and it's cooler outside for them or for the cats then place a fan on them to keep them cool when they are outside.

But when it's really hot outside you should bring them inside and have an air conditioner running if you have one.

Cats and dogs can die of heat stroke just like humans can.

Never leave a cat or dog or even a human inside a hot vehicle because temperatures rise really quick and even though it may only be 85 F outside the temperature in the car or other vehicle with closed windows can reach 150 F or more.

And when it's 100 F out the temperature inside the vehicle can reach 200 F or higher which can kill cats, dogs and humans really quick.
