After sending off the Cologuard test it usually takes around 2 weeks after sending off the Cologuard test before you get the results back from the Cologuard Test.

If you've sent off your Cologuard sample and it has been more than 2 weeks and you haven't heard back with the test results then you should call up the Exact Sciences Laboratories Customer Support Center at 1-844-870-8870

The Cologuard usually sends test results to your healthcare provider as well.

The cost of the Cologuard test is $649.00 which can either be paid out of pocket but also sometimes health insurance plans may pay for at least part of the Cologuard test if your doctor says you need it.

But if you want to get the Cologuard test kit to test your colon for colon cancer then you'll need to pay out of pocket if it's not deemed medically necessary by your doctor.

So while the Cologuard test kit is not all that expensive it's still not that cheap either.

Cologuard is also not as accurate as a Colonoscopy and even Cologuard admits that they may have false positives on their tests.

But it can be a good idea to get the Cologuard test and test for potential Colon Cancer.

If Colon Cancer is caught and treated soon enough then it can almost always be cured.

Without treatment for the colon cancer the colon cancer can easily advance to stage 4 colon cancer within 2 to 5 years.

So it's important to get colon screening and colonoscopies starting at age 50 and then continue the colonoscopies every 5 to 10 years depending on how at risk you are at developing colon cancer.

If colon cancer is found during the colonoscopy and you get treated soon afterwards you can usually be cured of the colon cancer before it spreads.

Once colon cancer spreads further and reaches stage 4 then it cannot be cured as easily and may not be able to be cured at all.

So you should get a colonoscopy when needed.
