When your feet keep falling asleep it could be that you're causing a loss of blood flow to the feet by sitting in the wrong position or maybe you've pinched a nerve.

Sitting too long and not getting the blood flowing through your body, legs and feet can also cause numb feet and cause your feet to fall asleep.

If you sit in one position too long then your blood will not be able to flow as freely through your legs and feet which then leads to the foot falling asleep or numb feet.

So make sure you're getting up and walking around often.

You might also have pinched a nerve in the foot somehow as well or pinched a nerve in your leg leading to your feet.

In other rare cases a foot constantly falling asleep or a foot going numb could be a symptom and sign of type 2 diabetes.

Numbness in your feet can sometimes be a sign of diabetes.

When someone is diabetic they may suffer from numbness in their feet so if you continue to experience numbness in your feet often then see a doctor and let them know.

The doctor can test you for diabetes.

Sometimes you might be in the early stages of diabetes while other times you might already have diabetes and may be unaware of it.

The numbness from diabetes will come and go as well and it's known as neuropathy.

The numbness in your feet which is usually a sign of diabetes is caused neuropathy or nerve damage and it's also one of the most common long term complications of type 2 diabetes.

However sometimes if you get numbness in your feet that doesn't happen often it could be caused by a pinched nerve in your foot.
