The amount of leopards that are left in the world is between 12,000 to 15,000 leopards.

It's hard to get an exact count because not every leopard is out there easy to see and be counted.

But Leopards are starting to become extinct because the population of leopards is dwindling and it's a good thing that some of the leopards live in protected areas.

If some of the leopards were not protected by living in protected locations then a lot of the leopards would be killed off and hunted.

Then when that happened the leopards would go completely extinct within a few years.

The majority of Leopards live in the wild but some leopards also live in captivity.
