If you get treatment and take medicine for getting rid of the hookworms the hookworms usually start going away within 7 days but can last as long as 14 days.

If you do not take medicine to get rid of the hookworms it can take 5 to 7 weeks to see the hookworms go away on their own.

In most cases hookworms do eventually leave your body and go away on their own even without treatment but It's much better to see a doctor and get medicine to get rid of the hookworms much faster.

When you take the medicine for the hookworms the hookworms should go away within 7 to 14 days once you start taking the medicine.

People with hookworms who are treated with albendazole once a day for 3 to 7 days see the hookworms go away within that time but sometimes it may take up to 14 days.
