Yes peppermint oil does repel earwigs.
You can soak some cotton balls with some peppermint oil and place the cotton balls with peppermint oil near areas where earwigs are coming into your house and it will keep the earwigs away.
Another way to repel earwigs with peppermint oil is to mix some peppermint oil with some water in a spray bottle.
Then spray the peppermint oil and water mixture around the house where the earwigs are coming in or hanging around.
The earwigs will stay away from those areas because earwigs hate the smell and scent of peppermint oil.
You can keep earwigs off of plants by spreading some petroleum Jelly around the stems of the plants and it will prevent the earwigs from climbing up the plant stem.
You can also repel earwigs by sprinkling Borax around the areas or spray some peppermint oil around those areas as well.
If you have wood piles such as firewood and need to keep the earwigs away from the wood pile sprinkle some Borax around them.
Just make sure to keep any kids or pets away from those areas.
