Yes tenants do have rights when it comes to renting a room.

Just like when a tenant rents a whole house or apartment the tenant has rights and the landlord legally must not enter the tenants room unless you give them notice.

However when renting out a room the tenant has less privacy because it's more easy for the landlord to just enter the room inside the house because they both live in the same house.

So if the tenant took the landlord to court over entering their room then it won't go as good for the tenant as it would if they lived in a house alone or in an apartment they were renting from the landlord.

I rented a room before when I was saving money to get an apartment but I hated every minute of it and found I had hardly any privacy.
