3 years old is not too late to potty train.

When your child reaches 3 years old and is still in diapers full time it's normal and nothing to worry about.

Some children are ready to stop wearing diapers and be potty trained by age 2 and some are not ready until near 3 years and 6 months to age 4 years old.

I would not worry about the potty training until the child is 4 years old or older and not using the potty.

If the child is still wearing and using diapers after age 4 years old then it becomes a problem and then you really should push the issue of potty training.

Some kids will eventually decide on their own to stop wearing diapers and then go to the potty.

And some kids are happy wearing and using diapers full time.

At 3 years old though you should try to see if the child will use the toilet and stop wearing diapers.
