Radiator Hoses usually last between 10 to 15 years before they go bad enough to actually burst out crack.

Radiator hoses are made from rubber and eventually that rubber degrades whether you drive your vehicle a lot or only a little bit.

The mileage doesn't really matter when it comes to how often you should change the radiator hoses but instead the time is what really matters.

However if you do a lot of driving then the constant heating and cooling of the radiator hoses and the pressure inside the rubber radiator hoses can lead to the radiator hose bursting.

If you plan to go on a long road trip and your radiator hoses are 8 years old or older then I would highly recommend changing both the radiator hoses out as well as the heater hoses.

I once had a car that was only 8 years old and went on a 3,000 mile road trip and about 2,000 miles into the road trip my top radiator hose burst and caused my engine to overheat and it left me on the side of the road.

I was able to get a tow truck but the tow truck cost me more money than just replacing the radiator hoses and heater hoses would've been.

I had a shop fix the radiator hoses and had them also replace the heater hoses as preventative maintenance.

They were replacing the radiator hose anyway and I didn't want any other hoses to burst on me.
