The amount of electrolytes per day you need as a minimum requirement is approximately 1,600 to 2,000 mg (40 to 50 mEq)
If you don't get enough electrolytes in your body then your body cannot function properly.
When you don't get enough electrolytes in you body then your heart cannot function properly and then you may get heart disease, heart attack, strokes etc.
Also a low amount of electrolytes in your body leads to feeling dehydrated especially in the hot weather which can lead to heat stroke which can be deadly.
When that happens and your body is low on electrolytes you can experience muscle weakness, spasms, cramps, paralysis and respiratory problems.
If it continues, kidney problems may occur.
Make sure to keep your electrolytes up and drink plenty of water and drink some Pedialyte to help bring your electrolyte levels back up.
