You can take a shower when you have the flu virus as long as you're not feeling dizzy or too fatigued or weak.

If you feel dizzy, fatigued or weak you should probably wait a few days until you get some of your energy back to take a shower.

You don't want to get dizzy or weak and then fall in the shower and injure yourself.

I always wait at least a few days into the flu virus to take a shower when I get some of my energy back as I can barely get out of bed anyway.

But yes taking a shower is good for the flu as it washes the sweat and germs off your body and you will feel much better afterwards.

Water is very good for when you have the flu.

Drinking water when you have the flu helps keep your body hydrated when you have the flu and the water helps to flush out the virus and germs from your body as well as other toxins.

Water is great for your health at anytime as well and you should drink at least 4 glasses of water per day but even more is better.

The more water you drink the healthier you will be and you'll stay hydrated.

Drinking plenty of water has also been shown to prevent gout.

Although if you do suffer from gout you should drink some cherry juice as well as water.

But yes when you have the flu drink more water than normal and even drinking some tea or orange juice is good for the flu.

When you drink that water, tea or orange juice you help flush out those germs from your system which can help your body recover faster and when you have the flu and a fever you're usually getting dehydrated more.

So you need more water to stay healthy and hydrated to help your body fight the flu virus.

some people do get watery eyes when they have the flu.

When you have the flu and have a fever your eyes can begin watering and that is normal.

You might also experiencing a burning eye sensation feeling along with the watery eyes when you're experiencing the flu.

It's all normal and nothing to worry about and when your fever goes away then watery eyes should too as long as the watery eyes are not caused by allergies.

I almost always get watery eyes when I have the flu and when I have a fever and after the fever goes away the eyes stop being watery.

You'll also usually experience body aches, muscle aches, fatigue, weakness, chills etc with the flu.

Most cases of the flu are not serious and just have to basically run their course for a week to 14 days.

You can take cold and flu medicine to help ease the symptoms of the flu.

But mostly rest and staying hydrated is about all you can really do to get rid of the flu.

If your flu gets worse or doesn't go away within 14 days or you have a fever of 100 F or more and it doesn't go down normally then go to urgent care or the emergency room just to be safe.

Sometimes the flu can be deadly so be careful although most cases of the flu are not deadly.
