Surgeons in some ways are higher up than a doctor and have a lot more training and knowledge in the medical field.

However surgeons mostly work on doing actual surgery on the patient and do not really see patients for other treatments etc.

A surgeon is a pretty highly qualified doctor in a way but they mainly focus on surgery to fix the insides of the patient.

While the doctors mainly work on treatments that treat the patients medical condition outside of the body.

But when surgery is needed the doctor will order surgery for the patient and then the surgeon takes over to perform the surgery.

Surgeons are usually paid much more in salary than a regular doctor or nurse too.

And some surgeons specialize in doing surgeries such as heart surgery, open heart surgery or brain surgery which can be more complex and they make more money usually than some other surgeons.
