You can sell a house without homeowners insurance as long as you own the home outright.

If you still have a mortgage on the home you're selling then you'll need to keep your homeowners insurance on the home until it sells to the new owner.

The bank you have the mortgage with will require you to have homeowners insurance on the home as long as you have the home mortgaged through them.

But when you sell the home then you don't need to pay homeowners insurance anymore but the new owner will need homeowners insurance as long as they have the mortgage.

But if you do not have a mortgage on the home you're selling and do not have homeowners insurance on the home then you can still sell it.

But if you already have homeowners insurance on the home it would be a good idea to keep the homeowners insurance on the home until it transfers to the new owner that you're selling it too.
