Some ways to tell if a wound is infected or healing is to watch for signs of infection of the wound which can be expanding redness around the wound, red streaking spreading from the wound, fever or increased swelling, tenderness or pain around the wound.

Sometimes your wound may be infected even when you see some yellow, green or white pus but not always.

If you think your wound is getting infected or think the wound is infected go to urgent care, see a doctor or go to the emergency room.

You should also apply some hydrogen peroxide to the wound to help prevent infection and also wash the wound using some antibacterial soap and warm water.

The yellow liquid that comes out of your wound is basically just normal pus that is being pushed out of the wound to get rid of bacteria and other infections that can be in your wound.

It's normal to see yellow liquid or yellow pus coming from healing wounds and is usually nothing to worry about.

The pus can also be white as well as green and not just yellow which is also normal.

The white stuff on a wound is known as Purulent drainage and is a good thing which means it's helping to fight the infection in your wound.

When you get the white stuff on a wound your wound is healing.

The white stuff in the wound is pus that is draining and the pus is full of dead white blood cells that are rushing to the surface of the wound.

It helps the body fight infection.

The white pus from wounds can contain bacteria and fungi that your body is wanting to get rid of.
