If you get a deep enough wound then you need stitches to seal the wound up and stop bleeding but if it's a small wound that is bleeding you can put flour on the wound to stop the bleeding.
I've used flour to stop bleeding before on smaller wounds and cuts and it has worked and my mother used to use flour on my cuts and my brothers cuts as well.
But if you do have a deep cut you need to get medical attention to stop the bleeding.

Within seconds to minutes of an injury, blood vessels will constrict to reduce bleeding as long as it's not a very serious cut or wound the bleeding usually stops on it's own.
