Most shin wounds heal within 1 to 2 months but some can take longer.

When you have a shin wound the time it takes for your shin wound to heal fully can vary depending on the size of the shin wound and how severe the shin wound is.

Most shin wounds however heal fully within a 2 months but some shin wounds that are bigger and more severe may take as long as 4 to 6 months to fully heal.

If you think the shin wound is not healing properly or you think the shin would might be getting infected then see a doctor or go to the emergency room or urgent care for treatment.

You don't want the shin wound to get infected as that can make the shin wound take longer to heal and can cause you to get sick as a result of the infection.

Make sure to keep the shin wound clean which is very important to prevent infection.

Wash your shin would with mild soap and water daily.

Also, change any bandages and dressings at least once daily to keep the area dry, so the shin wound can heal.
