The time it takes for a skin graft procedure is between 1 to 3 hours depending on how much skin grafting is needed.

The more skin graft surgery that needs done the longer it will take but at most it should take no longer than 3 hours for most skin graft surgery procedures.

Most skin grafting is considered to be major surgery and requires a hospital stay of 1 to 2 weeks after the skin graft surgery is done.

Skin grafting is usually a pretty safe surgery although there can sometimes be complications but you do need to recover in the hospital for a week or two weeks after having the skin grafting surgery done.

Most people who have skin graft surgery done need to stay in the hospital for 1 to 2 weeks so that they can recover from the skin graft and so that the doctors and nurses can keep an eye out for any complications.

After 1 to 2 weeks you should be able to be discharged from the hospital after the skin graft surgery is done.

So when you go in for a skin graft be prepared to stay in the hospital for at least 2 weeks.

As long as no complications with the skin graft occur you should be discharged within a week to two weeks.

After you're discharged from the hospital you need to wear a dressing for at least 2 weeks to protect the skin graft.

Follow the doctors instructions and take it easy for awhile to avoid tearing any of the skin.

If you notice any complications at home or your skin graft starts to bleed then go to the emergency room.
