Although thunder can seem scary to some people the thunder itself can cause no harm to anyone.
But when thunder is around then you should go indoors and get somewhere safe away from the storm because when you hear thunder the lightning will happen soon after.
While thunder will not harm you the lightning that follows after thunder can hurt you.
It's rare for a person to get struck by lightning but you can get struck by lightning if you happen to be out in the storm.
So always take cover and get inside somewhere if possible.
If you're in your car it's best to stay in your car and get to somewhere safe if possible.
The thunder might hurt your ears but it's not gonna harm you in any other way.
