A collapsed radiator hose can cause engine overheating if you drive too far or too long after the radiator hose collapses.

Always keep en eye on your temperature gauge and if your engine begins overheating you need to pull over to the side of the road or somewhere safe and allow the engine to cool down and then check the cooling system.

When a radiator hose collapses it means that you have a vacuum issue in you radiator and coolant and cooling system.

The most common cause of a radiator hose collapsing is due to a bad radiator cap.

The bad radiator cap can cause the radiator and cooling system to not seal properly which introduces air into the cooling system and leads to the radiator hose collapsing.

If you're having an issue of a radiator hose collapsing you should replace the radiator cap and make sure you have enough coolant in the radiator and cooling system.

You don't want air in the cooling system so run the engine for awhile and then shut it off and allow the engine and cooling system to cool down and then check the coolant level again and if the coolant level is still low then add some more until the coolant level is at the right level.
