If you go to the doctor for a sunburn the doctor will examine the sunburn and see how severe it is.

Then the doctor might have some cream to apply to the sunburn during the doctors visit.

After that the doctor will then prescribe you some sunburn ointment or the doctor may prescribe oral corticosteroids which can be in pill form or liquid form.

Applying some Aloe Vera gel to the sunburn at home can also work and if the sunburn is not too severe then the sunburn should go away within a few weeks to a month.

Most sunburns are not very serious and heal on their own without treatment although soaking in a cool or lukewarm bath can help ease the sunburn.

Or taking a cool shower can also help with sunburns.
