Self cleaning litter boxes are expensive or at least more expensive than a regular litter box but in my opinion yes the self cleaning litter boxes are worth the cost.
Th self cleaning litter box still requires you to empty the waste from it but you don't have to sit there and scoop out the poop from the self cleaning litter box.
It helps keep the litter box clean so that the cat or cats will use the litter box without worry about the litter box having poop in it.
Cats prefer to use clean litter boxes so by using a self cleaning litter box the litter box will always remain clean.
Then after a certain amount of time you just empty the waste from the litter box.
I bought a self cleaning litter box for my cats and it was well worth the money spent.
I would not go back to a regular litter box now for my cats and highly recommend a self cleaning litter box.
