You can put really wet stuff or really wet clothing in the dryer and the clothes or other fabric will dry in the dryer.

However if you do not wring most of the water out of the clothing it will take longer for the clothing or whatever it is you're drying to dry.

If you have a washing machine the washing machine should get most of the water out of the clothing or other laundry so that the dryer dries the clothing or laundry faster.

But if you're washing clothes by hand and have no other way to wring the clothes or laundry out you can twist the clothing or laundry in your hand over the bathtub and wring most of the water out.

That will help the dryer dry the laundry or clothing much faster.

The dryer will run less and dry the clothes faster which costs you less money if you wring most of the water out of the clothing or laundry.
