Yes gasoline can evaporate in hot weather and the hotter the weather the more the gasoline evaporates.

So make sure your gas cap on your vehicles gas tank is secured tightly and if you have gasoline in gas cans for your lawn mowers or other things make sure to store them out of the sunlight such as in an outdoor shed.

Locking the gasoline in a shed is a good idea also to prevent gasoline theft.

If you don't drive your car or vehicle too often and you have a full tank of gasoline you can lose a few gallons or more per week from your gas tank due to evaporation.

When you park your car at work or somewhere in the hot weather try parking the vehicle in the shade to reduce the chance of your gasoline evaporating.

Diesel however doesn't evaporate like gasoline does so that is one benefit of diesel engines.
