No bacteria cannot survive and is unable to survive in boiling water because the boiling water reaches a very high temperature which kills the bacteria.

The boiling water kills off flu viruses as well as other potential bacteria.

When I took my baby to the doctors office before and he had the flu and had his pacifier in his mouth his pediatrician recommended that I switch out his pacifier often and then before giving back his current pacifier to get some water boiling in a pan and then let the pacifier sit in the boiling water for a minute or two and dip it around in it.

The doctor said that the boiling hot water would kill off any flu virus that could be on the pacifier nipple.

He also recommended putting the baby bottle nipples in the boiling water as well to kill off any potential flu virus on it.
