Ice on a sunburn can help to soothe the sunburn but don't put the ice directly on the sunburn.

Put the ice in something such as a plastic bag such as a Ziploc bag or sandwich bag and then wrap that in a paper towel before putting it on the sunburn.

The cool ice can help to soothe the sunburn.

Taking a cool shower or a cool bath can also help soothe the sunburn and make it feel better.

Also you can help the sunburn heal faster and soothe it by applying some moisturizing lotion with Aloe Vera.

To prevent sunburns apply sunscreen before going out into the intense sun as too many sunburns can cause some people to develop skin cancer.

Another thing you can do to help with the pain of the sunburn is to take a pain reliever such as ibuprofen or naproxen sodium to control the pain and swelling of sunburn.

Most sunburns heal within 2 to 3 weeks but if the sunburn is more severe it may last up to 4 to 5 weeks.
