If you try to train your child too early and try to rush the potty training before the child is actually ready and able to use the toilet properly and on their own then you could actually cause serious health issues with your child.

Rushing potty training leads to not only more potty accidents but also health issues such as kidney disease, Urinary Tract Infections, Constipation etc.

Some children are ready to potty train as early as 18 months but some children may not be ready to potty train until around 2 years old or even as late as 3 to 4 years of age.

There's no need to rush your child into potty training unless they are actually getting past 4 years old and not using the toilet.

You can try potty training your child at 18 months but if they are not ready then just stop with the potty training and go back to diapers and try again when the child is 2 years old.

If the 2 year old still refuses to potty just put them back in diapers and wait a few more months or wait until they are 3 years old to try again.

Some children will decide on their own to stop wearing diapers and use the toilet.
